Huisartsen Kwatrecht with Dr. Deprost & Dr. Venneman has been in existence since 1983.
Address: Brusselsesteenweg 232, Wetteren, Belgium
Who we are :
Dr. Luc Deprost and Dr. Myriam Venneman have been working there full-time for decades as accredited, recognized, and contracted general practitioners. Dr Tali Rahoens is working here as a third doctor. Dr.Marine Monfret has also joined our team in 2022. She is a graduate doctor in general medicine. Her training to become specialized in family medicine takes the form of daily consultations in the office (and several meetings a month with university departments).
The office phone number is 09 369 98 98. Secretaries and nurses will give you the necessary information or make an appointment ( if you are not able to make it online yourself). In selected cases, you may also be connected to one of the doctors outside of consultations (via the same telephone number). Direct talks with a doctor are guaranteed between 13.15 and 13.45. (1.15 and 1.45 p.m.)
During office hours, we work simultaneously in several rooms with the main entrance and a common waiting room. The doctors share medical records and can do the follow-up of all patients. You keep the free choice of doctor.
All general practitioners work full-time. Apart from in-office consultations, there are home visits to people who are too ill or far too old to leave their houses.
We always work according to the legal rates. Also in 2023. For all the doctors, the rates and reimbursement are the same. When you are a member of a Belgian Mutualiteit (everybody with a labor contract has that right, also for his family) you only pay the supplement (= 1 to 6 euros during the day, depending on your status). In the case of technical acts, such as stitching wounds or cardiograms, there is a slightly higher supplement of e.g. 7-15 euros.
Appointment booking
FROM APRIL 1, 2021, ALL CONSULTATIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
It is preferable to make an appointment at www.MediKwatrecht.be. When it comes to a non-urgent case (eg to renew medication) it is best to avoid Mondays and Fridays as these are the busiest days (before and after the weekend).
If there is no more room available on the desired day, feel free to give us a call, and we can see how far you are adding to the schedule. You can also request an appointment by e-mail at info@mediKwatrecht.be. In this case, it is best to do it at least two days in advance.
For home visits, please make the request before 10 a.m. The day before is also possible if the need is known in advance.
A direct phone call to a doctor
To talk to a doctor about results or planned examinations, please call between 1.15 p.m. and 1.45 p.m. If you would like to have the details of a result, please make an appointment as long calls are not always clear and also interfere with the consultations of others.
Residential and social care centers
We visit 10 residential care centers for the elderly in Wetteren and its surroundings (Melle, Oosterzele, Laarne, Lemberge, Oordegem). There are files with a summary of medical data there, for the nursing staff.
This also applies to MFC Sint-Lodewijk and Home Diepenbroek in Wetteren, care centers for people suffering from movement restrictions where we are appointed general practitioners and medical coordinators (http://www.sintlodewijk.be/).
Certificate of incapacity for work
Doctors are not authorized by the Order of doctors to make any declaration (e.g. of incapacity) without meeting the patient on the same day.
The preventive examinations that we recommend for certain ages:
- bowel cancer screening (in stools): from 50 years of age.
- smear (women) from 25 years on; every 2-3 years, preferably by appointment. It is advisable to do this smear regularly within these deadlines.
- breast examination (women): from the age of 50 or from the start of a pill or in the event of a hereditary disease.
- cholesterol, blood test: anyone who does not yet know their cholesterol level (from 25-30 years old), if treatment is needed or if there is a risk of cardiovascular disease (for example, body weight, smoking, genes): up to 1x / year (as soon as a target figure has been reached, or more often before).
-discussion of all your risk factors, "preventive maintenance and examination": recommended each year at a specially organized meeting.
Vaccines
Everyone is entitled to a free vaccine against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (a three-in-one vaccine called Triaxis or Boostrix). Always in stock in a refrigerator in the office. Do not hesitate to ask.
You can also get vaccines for babies and young people for free, but reserve your vaccine in advance by age.
You will find other recommended vaccines on our page for diagnosis-related information. Influenza vaccine is recommended above 50 years of age.
Many travel vaccines can be administered with us (you may be asked to buy them at the drug store before coming, with our prescription). To find out what you need per country, visit www.itg.be.
For Covid vaccines: see section "Covid19".
